With sensitivity and talent Jaime Manrique portrays key moments in the private and literary lives of three important Hispanic writers (Manuel Puig, Reinaldo Arenas and Federico García Lorca), while at the same time narrating his own intellectual and emotional trip towards becoming an author. By recounting his first years in Colombia, he presents a sincere vision of what it means to grow up in Latin America as a homosexual.

• Tarzan, My Body, Christopher Columbus (2001)

• Luna latina en Manhattan (2003)
Exuberant and colorful, this novel paints a vivid portrait of New York City as the land of El Dorado for today's Latino immigrants. From Little Colombia in Queens to the street life of Times Square, this brilliant novel is crowded with an extraordinary cast of characters. This rich and charming work explores a profusion of plots and sub-plots of drug smuggling, and romance.
