About the author
Jean Cocteau was a French poet, novelist, playwright, visual artist, and filmmaker who moved between forms with unusual ease. The Holy Terrors (Les Enfants terribles) draws on his fascination with youthful intensity, private codes, and the theatrical worlds people make around themselves. His writing, stage work, drawings, and films form a connected body of work in which transformation and performance recur as both subject and method.
