About the author
June Arnold was an American novelist, publisher, and lesbian-feminist organizer whose work connected literary experiment with the practical labor of making room for women’s writing. She co-founded Daughters, Inc., the independent press that published her own Sister Gin and other work that mainstream houses had overlooked. Her fiction returns to women’s lives in the American South with wit, formal curiosity, and an unsentimental sense of constraint.
