Dave,
who was born in San Diego, raised near Philadelphia, and “stuck” for awhile
(by choice) in Indiana after college graduation (Indiana University), is now
back on the west coast again.
He
began drawing at an early age, then graduated to paints when the crayons
weren’t cutting the mustard. Preferring acrylics, Dave likes to
experiment with colors to achieve different effects. Through art, he’s
also able to express his interest in the cinema.
Artists that have influenced his
style include Vargas, Vermeer, Maxfield Parrish, N.C. Wyeth, Norman
Rockwell, Andy Warhol, and Kenneth Kendall.
Currently, he is a Marketing Director
at UCSD by day and an “artiste” by night.
Dave's art has been shown on Larry
King Live! and was also recently published in a book that focuses on
artistic renderings of Madonna (Madonna
in Art by
Mem Mehmet).
