As proprietor of DREAMWalker Group, it is
Michael Walker's desire to
express a deep sense of gratitude for all the good that has entered and
continues to enter his life. Believing that giving is equal to or better
than receiving, he have created a site that offers free web profiles to
creative people and provides a “one stop” venue for creative information
and creative, spirit-based support. Insofar as this is a free site, he
is also hopeful that this site will eventually become self-supporting.
To make this a possibility, visitors to the site are encouraged to buy
at least one item a year through the Amazon.com and other affiliate
links. (Note: If every amazing person currently listed on
this site bought just one item using the Amazon search box on the home
page, DREAMWalker Group would earn enough money to keep this free site
up and running for about one and a half years!).
Incidentally, DREAMWalker Group encourages the free-flow of ideas and the double-encouragement of sharing any monetary profits stemming from those ideas. We don't really care who you share them with, but it makes sense to us that you would want to share them with the entities who helped you development to begin with (the Universe, your Muse, a charity, friends, co-artists, etc.).
Call this our own little creative-based initiative.

The honor of your presence and, by default, your brilliance.
A chance to increase your association with other
brilliant (sparkling) members on a personal level.
Well, we have our Muse. As far as hotshot professionals go, however, we're dubious about going there. We believe that a Creative and Positive Universe stands behind us 100%. We also think that what goes around comes around and that by staying honest and caring toward each other, we guarantee ourselves total success in all our creative endeavors.

In terms of improving the site, I ask
people to create more works. Then, when you do so, let me know about
those new creations by writing me at
dreamwalkergroup@me.com).
Other things that helpful are:
-
Keep creating!
-
Tell all your creative friends and associates about my
free site!! (Maybe they'd like a profile too?)
-
If you don't have a web page of your own, consider
using your profile at DREAMWalker Group as one for purposes of
marketing yourself. After all, it's FREE!
-
Please consider signing up for my newsletter. Not only
will this ensure that my email address is considered by you to be "non
spam", but you'll get periodic reports about happenings at DREAMWalker Group. To sign up, just go to the very bottom of your profile screen
(or to
http://dreamwalkergroup.com) and fill in the sign up for my
newsletter box. (Also, you can read my newsletters on line by going to
http://www.dreamwalkergroup.com/dreamscene/index_dreamscene.htm.)
-
Submit something for publication in our newsletter. We
can't pay but we can promise exposure. Since the number of visitors
who visit our website is growing exponentially, you can expect a lot
of people to see your name and the piece you send. We're currently
seeking interviews, articles, and even newsletters of interest to each
of our special-interest communities -- Arts, Disability, GayLesBi,
General Literary, Recovery, Seniors, Spirit-Guided, and Transgender.
(You can read my newsletters on line by going to
http://www.dreamwalkergroup.com/dreamscene/index_dreamscene.htm.)
-
Create a link from your own homepage to DREAMWalker Group's homepage (http://dreamwalkergroup.com)
or to your own profile.
-
Provide me with a list of your own favorite authors
and favorite books for inclusion in your profile.
-
Tell me under what related subject headings you'd like
your profile listed (e.g. Boating, History, Motivational, Nonfiction,
etc.).
-
Suggest to your publishers that they sponsor a small
ad on your profile page. These free ads link from your profile page
directly to your publisher's website (or wherever they choose!).
-
Buy all your books from Amazon.com using my site.
Whenever buying a book go to
http://dreamwalkergroup.com/administrative/search_amazon.htm and
do your searches through me. If every amazing person listed on my site
bought just one item using the Amazon search box on the home page,
DREAMWalker Group would earn enough money to keep this free site up
and running for about one and a half years! If everybody did it all
the time, we'd make enough money to start giving back to the community
40% of our commissions (see
http://dreamwalkergroup.com/#Donate_money_to_creative_and_literary_causes. for more information).
-
Let us know when your profile needs to be changed
(e.g. contact information changes, publish new book, etc.).

One way of looking at out-of-print books is to realize that they have had their day on the bookstands. The creators of the books were (hopefully) compensated through whatever agreed means negotiated at the time. Now, whether in remainder piles, used bookstores, online bookstores, or flea markets, the books are for all intents and purposes part of the public domain. Perhaps not legally, but certainly on a more metaphysical level. We don't think this is necessarily fair -- but it is the way it is.
At DREAMWalker Group we try to create a space where an author's entire literary history is available. This historical listing serves to highlight the author's brilliance and encourage other people to try to replicate it -- and it by necessity includes books that are out-of-print. Not listing a book because it is out-of-print serves no purpose.
Finally, if you feel strongly about the royalty issue, we think there are several things you can do to help the artist. Contact the author directly (when known, we list the contact information on the author's profile) and see if you can purchase the out-of-print book from her or him directly. Buy the book through us and then contact the author to see if you can offer him a royalty or stipend.
What can an author do about the royalty issue? We're not lawyers, so we're not sure. For lack of any other suggestions, we suggest the author bless the out-of-print book and release it back from whence they came. Such an act of love, we believe, can shower us with untold blessings.

Yes, publishers and art galleries are encouraged to
place small banners on the bio and profile pages of creative folks they
work with. There is no fee for this service -- but there are
caveats; see
Corporate
Sponsorship for more information.
Note to creative authors and
artists: Please encourage your publishers and art galleries to
place free banners on your bio and/or profile pages -- doing so will enable
our readers to travel to follow links to their own websites.
