  • The Power of Shamanic Healing (2003)
Discover an ancient practice for working with your body's Luminous Energy Field to heal emotionally, spiritually, and physically - and even to prevent illness from manifesting in yourself and others! Western medicine may "cure" you - but it doesn't mean you're healed. For example, if, due to illness, one of your organs is removed physically by your doctor, this doesn't mean you're healed. Alberto claims that the infected energy is still there and the illness will manifest in other ways. When you apply the shaman healing practice, you'll work with the Luminous Field of Energy (that surrounds everyone's physical body) - and clear energetic imprints (seen by the trained shaman eye) that cause illness.

  • Inka Prophecy: The Time To Come (1996)
    VHS.
According to legend, when the Q`ero first appeared at the feast of the Collor R`iti wearing ponchos emblazoned with the royal emblem of the Sun, and aisle parted in the thousands gathered and the elders of the medicine people welcomed them, saying, "We have been waiting for you for five hundred years."

They are the Inkas, the last original descendants of the Children of the Sun, and they have returned to deliver the prophecy entrusted to them foretelling of the End of Time. But they have also been the keepers of a body of processes, of rites of passage that usher in who we are becoming as a people and a planet. For the Inkas, the coming -- Pachakuti -- means the possible end of the world as we know it. But while presenting the possibility of annihilation and return to chaos, they also promise the emergence of a new human at the end of this turmoil. They announce the beginning of a millennium of gold on the Earth. Even more important, for the medicine people the prophecies speak about a tear in the fabric of time itself. This presents an opportunity for us to begin defining ourselves not by who we have been in the past, but who we will become 10,000 years from now.

The Inka believe a new day is dawning. The doorways between the worlds are opening -- holes in time that we can step through and beyond, where our human capabilities propel us to heights never experienced before. We have the knowledge to craft new physical bodies that age differently, heal differently, and that possibly may never die. These bodies offer us the opportunity to step beyond the world we have known, where we can once again embark on our journey, returning to the stars.

  • Illumination: The Shaman's Way (2010)
Illumination guides the reader on a healing journey, forged by the timeless wisdom of indigenous cultures and the latest theories of neurobiology. Through various stages in this journey of initiation, we grow to understand the causes of our suffering and how to free ourselves from the pain and drama of our unhealed emotions. Life itself invites us to be initiated through many means—the possibility of love, the loss of a parent or friend, the birth of a child, or a serious health crisis. True initiation is empowered by facing personal challenges and experiencing the spiritual rebirth—or illumination—that follows.

Unifying this book is the sacred process of transforming toxic emotions into sources of power and grace. Illumination shows us how to bid a joyful goodbye to the people and places we have met, discovering a sacred space where the spirit inhabits, uniting the body and soul. When we learn to let go from difficult situations and problems, to accept our lives as they are, we can begin to identify with a self that is eternal.

Recounting his own experiences, tracing the mythologies of an array of cultures, and expanding his inquiry into the field of neurobiology, Alberto Villoldo shows readers how they can benefit from these sacred practices.

  • Courageous Dreaming: How Shamans Dream the World into Being (2008)
Modern physics tells us that we’re dreaming the world into being with every thought. The Courage to Dream Your Life tells us how to dream our world with power and grace. The ancient shamans of the Americas understood that we’re not only creating our experience of the world, but are dreaming up the very nature of reality itselfthat is, “life is but a dream.” When you don’t dream your life, you have to settle for the nightmare being dreamed by others. This book shows how to wake up from the collective nightmare and begin to dream a life of courage and grace, a sacred dream that shamans throughout time have known and served.

  • Yoga, Power, and Spirit: Patanjali the Shaman (2007)
The Yoga Sutra of Patanjali is the classic text on the spiritual practice of yoga. Written more than 2,000 years ago, this work is a map to the fast track to enlightenment. They derive from an ancient oral tradition, when Devi, the Divine feminine, was worshiped. Yet, today, the Yoga Sutra is taught by priests and scholars from a masculine Hindu tradition that obscures the simple wisdom in it. Yoga, Power, and Spirit shows us that the Sutra is pre-Hindu, and that the power of Devi and enlightenment are available to us at all times, without guru, temple, or decades of study.

Yoga is the direct path to enlightenment. Patanjali taught that all knowledge was acquired directly from the Source. This book reveals how the power of Devi can guide the practitioner of yoga to sure and inevitable self-realization. Alberto Villoldo is a shaman who has practiced Yoga for 25 years, and embraced the way of the Divine feminine. He has traveled to the source of India's holy rivers in the Himalayas to rediscover the wisdom of the Sadhu, India’s ancient shamans. He brings to life the spiritual teachings of yoga in a pure, practical, and irreverent way—stripped of dogma and brimming with poetry and spirit.

  • Mending the Past & Healing the Future With Soul Retrieval (2006)
This fascinating book by psychologist and medical anthropologist Alberto Villoldo, Ph.D., explains the practices for healing outside of ordinary time and space. It shows how to enter the timeless now to heal events that occurred in the past, and to correct the course of destiny. Dr. Villoldo discusses ways in which you can heal yourself and your loved ones by employing intention through practices used by shamans of the Americas — which, until now, have been inaccessible to most of the world. The shamans of old called this journeying.

In this book, you’ll discover that you have a four-chambered heart in the same way you have a four-chambered soul. In the first chamber, you store away the memory of a wound that derailed your destiny. In the second, you keep the limiting beliefs and soul contracts that you entered into at the time of your loss. In the third, you recover the grace and trust that will make you whole again; and in the fourth, you remember the calling and mission that you choose to unfold in this lifetime.

“While everyone has a future,” Villoldo says, “only certain people have a destiny.” This book shows you how to find and manifest yours.

  • The Four Insights: Wisdom, Power, and Grace of the Earthkeepers (2006)
The Four Insights are the wisdom teachings that have been protected by secret societies of Earthkeepers, the medicine men and women of the Americas. The Insights state that all creation—humans, whales, and even stars—is made from light manifest through the power of intention. The Earthkeepers mastered the Insights, and used them to heal disease, eliminate emotional suffering, and even grow new bodies that age and heal differently.

Mastery of the Insights allows you to reinform your DNA and participate consciously in your biological, emotional, and spiritual evolution. According to the prophecies of the Maya, Hopi, and Inka Earthkeepers, we’re at a turning point in human history, when a new species of human will give birth to itself. We’re going to take a quantum leap into what we’re becoming and will no longer be Homo sapiens but Homo luminouos. The Four Insights reveal ancient technologies we can practice for becoming beings of light with the ability to perceive the energy and vibration that make up the physical universe at a much higher level.

  • The Journey: The Work of Alberto Villoldo (2004)

  • Shaman, Healer, Sage: How to Heal Yourself and Others with the Energy Medicine of the Americas (2000)
Alberto Villoldo, a classically trained medical anthropologist, has studied shamanic healing techniques among the descendants of the ancient Inkas for more than twenty years. In Shaman, Healer, Sage, he draws on his vast body of knowledge to create a practical and revolutionary program based on the traditional healing methods used by these shamans -- methods that, until now, have been inaccessible to most of the world.

Villoldo explains that central to shamanic healing is the concept of the Luminous Energy Field that is believed to surround our material bodies. His book teaches us to see and influence the imprints that disease leaves on this field and thereby to heal ourselves and others, as well as prevent illness.

Villoldo weaves wonderful teaching stories throughout about the healing power of the energy medicine of the Americas. In one story, Villoldo comes down with pneumonia while in Peru. When antibiotics fail to control the infection, his mentor, the shaman Don Antonio, uses the process of Illumination to remove the toxins that had invaded Villoldo's body. These same shamanic techniques later allowed Villoldo to remove stagnant energy from a young woman whose marriage was suffering due to her past experience with abandonment. With the aid of shamanic work, the woman regained her trust in others, and her marriage was revitalized.

This book is rich with ancient wisdom and contemporary techniques we can use to help ourselves and others, as well as with the more advanced methods of master shamans, which are being brought to a wide audience for the first time.

  • Dance of the Four Winds: Secrets of the Inca Medicine Wheel (1994) with Erik Jendresen

  • Island of the Sun: Mastering the Inca Medicine Wheel  (1994) with Erik Jendresen
Island of the Sun recounts the American psychologist Alberto Villoldo's return to Peru in search of the Quechua Indian shaman Don Jicaram. The authors' earlier book, Dance of the Four Winds, described Villoldo's first initiation, under Don Jicaram, into the secrets of the Inca Medicine Wheel and the spiritual journey of the Four Winds. Villoldo had begun that journey in the South, "where one goes to confront and shed the past." With use of the powerful mind-altering plant ayahuasca, he had continued to the West, a direction also inhabited by fear and death. Now in Island of the Sun he prepares himself for the journey to the North, where lies the wisdom of the ancient Inca shamans. Traveling from Machu Picchu to the "Island of the Sun," a sacred site in Bolivia, Villoldo uncovers a profound secret about the journey to the East--the journey home.

  • Journey to the Island of the Sun: The Return to the Lost City of Gold (1992) with Erik Jendresen
Continuing his personal odyssey, Villoldo returns to Peru in search of the shaman who first guided his spiritual journey.
