Who Are You? The Path of Self-Inquiry
(2005)
CD
Cassette
Investigate the Infinite beyond Death - In the search for truth, there is
only one question that needs to be answered: Who am I? This inquiry into
the self is the core of advaita vedanta (radical non-dualism) – a timeless
teaching for breaking free of mental bonds and reclaiming your true
identity: the Infinite that is beyond death. On Who Are You? American-born
spiritual teacher Gangaji spells out the bedrock principles of
self-inquiry – a cluster of no-nonsense concepts that reveal how to
effortlessly step outside limited psychological conditioning and mental
constructs into the freedom, expansiveness, and peace of your own true
nature.

Freedom & Desire (2004)
CD
"The desire for truth, for God, for freedom will never be satisfied even
by the most exquisite experiences or states of mind. This is the
realization that most people avoid because it is so radical, because it
means that the desire for freedom is not just a toy of the mind." Unlike
other desires, the desire for true freedom is an invitation to turn the
mind back into the very core of the desire itself, rather than projecting
into the future. In these conversations Gangaji makes it clear that once
that choice is made it is possible to realize something more limitless
than personal freedom: the direct experience of what is and always has
been and always will be free.
-
Innocence, Trust and Self-Betrayal (2004)
CD
"If you are willing to experience the pain of your own self-betrayal, that
pain is a divine fire that reveals the power of the choice to suffer. The
willingness to be pierced by this arrow is the willingness to be free. It
is simply a matter of telling the truth." In these monologues and
interactions, Gangaji addresses the perception of lost innocence and the
desire to return to and reclaim ones original purity of being. Central to
this investigation is the recognition of ones own self-betrayal. When all
addictive mental activity surrounding self-doubt is cut, it ceases taking
precedence over the desire to realize oneself. Telling the truth and
having the willingness to trust inherent peace leads one into the heart of
what cannot be betrayed, what is free. That is who you are.
-
Love & Gratitude (2004)
CD
"Love has nothing to do with another person. Love is your individual and
collective soul. Love is God. Love is truth. Love is beauty. Love is Self.
To know yourself, to surrender to the truth of yourself, is to surrender
to love." In this collection of conversations with Gangaji, the topics of
love and gratitude are explored and celebrated as fundamental choices
inherent to every moment of one's life. Gangaji speaks of the tendency of
mind to focus on what is "wrong" in our lives, rather than embracing all
that there is to be grateful for. This tendency, coupled with strategies
of protection and defense against being broken hearted, is the source of
our greatest suffering. When there is the desire to serve the truth of
love, the truth of freedom, the truth of one's own heart, then the
privilege of one's life can be recognized. Love can teach you who you are.
-
Beyond Practice (2003)
CD
Ironically, a spiritual practice can become the obstacle to
self-realization. In this compilation Gangaji addresses the topics of
meditation and practice, when they are useful and when they are a
hindrance. Her invitation is to stop every effort toward what you think
will give you truth and peace so that truth and peace can naturally reveal
themselves in your heart.
-
Open, Unprotected and Free (2003)
CD
"If you are willing to experience anything directly and immediately,
whether good or bad, joyous or hateful, you will recognize that what you
are running from does not exist, and what you are running toward is
already here."??To live a life that is open, unprotected, and free is to
stop avoiding what has been most feared. In this series of powerfully
moving monologues and interactions, Gangaji speaks to the inherent
openness of your being, an openness that can only be discovered in the
meeting of whatever it is you are attempting to escape. She asks you to
investigate how the preciousness of your life is deadened by the avoidance
of negative emotions; to see that all of your efforts toward protection
actually only augment your pain and turn it into suffering. Here is the
invitation to stop turning from the truth of your own beingness and to
discover the freedom of the all-inclusive heart.

Revealing Strategies of Ego (2003)
CD
"Mind, ego, superego have the power of great imitation. What cannot be
imitated is the vastness of being. "??The voices of the ego and superego
are an illusion in the mind, and yet they can consume our attention and
direct our choices in life. Their often-tortured opposition to each other
gives rise to a myriad of strategies and battles in the mind. In this
compilation Gangaji supports you in identifying the false voices of ego
and superego. When examined with discriminating wisdom, both the inflated
and the deflated ego serve to reveal the pristine truth that is untouched
by the conditioned mind. This essential revelation is the gateway to
living a life that gives full attention to the truth of being rather than
the common perpetuation of the internal and external war of the egos.

The Moment of Choice (2003)
CD
Following the impulses and strategies of the mind to escape or deny
uncomfortable emotions may seem to be choiceless. But there is, in fact, a
moment of choice to not follow our habituated conditioning. This
collection of conversations with Gangaji clearly illustrates how that
moment of choice can be easily recognized in the willingness to
consciously investigate our own tactics of avoidance. When any thought or
emotion, however uncomfortable, is met in the light of conscious
awareness, it immediately loses its authority over our happiness and well
being. Rather than something to be run from it becomes a doorway to an
ever-deepening discovery of one’s true self.
-
The Invitation (2002)
CD
Have you looked everywhere for fulfillment? In relationships,
spirituality, health, self-image? Have you found what matters most? At the
very heart of Gangaji’s message is the simple yet radical invitation to
stop looking outside yourself for resolution, and simply be willing, just
in this moment, to see what is already here. This compilation of
crystalline monologues is the encouragement, the support, and the
inspiration to finally accept the invitation of your soul’s deepest
longing. Beyond any belief about yourself, closer than any joy or sorrow,
more immediate than either sickness or health, is the endlessly fulfilling
truth of who you are. Welcome in.

The Heart Broken Open (2001)
CD
Gangaji and interviewer Chris Mohr read from and discuss familiar passages
in the bible, offering a coherent context for the wisdom of Christ's
teachings to permeate our present day awareness. Gangaji breathes a
surprisingly fresh, living clarity into the topics of original sin, the
virgin birth, crucifixion, redemption, and resurrection. She gives us the
opportunity to realize that the life of Jesus is not separate from our own
lives, that his surrender is the possibility of our own surrender, and
that true forgiveness and love arise naturally, effortlessly, from the
silence of a heart broken all the way open.

Just Like You: A Biography (2003)
by Roslyn Moore
After a difficult childhood in the deep South and with her marriage failing,
Toni Varner arrived in San Francisco looking for happiness. Joining the
counterculture, she spent two decades on a spiritual search. Then, in 1990,
she met Papaji, an awakened master in the lineage of Sri Ramana Maharshi.
She had never wanted a guru, and she certainly hadn't wanted an Indian name.
But when she met Papji, he stopped her in her tracks. In meeting him, she
discovered the source of true fulfillment.
Since that time, Gangaji, a beloved spiritual teacher, has been holding
public meetings and retreats across the United States and around the world.
In her autobiography, written with Roslyn Moore, Gangaji tells her story. It
is a candid, inspiring, and often humorous account. "Just Like You" includes
dozens of pictures, a section of penetrating questions and answers, and an
appendix with letters exchanged between Gangaji and her teacher.
Gangaji says she is just like you and me, that she would be happy to tell us
if she weren't, but she is. By sharing the experience of her life she is
offering herself as living proof that it is possible for anyone to stop
telling their endless story of suffering, to wake up to what is, and to live
life truly and freely.
