  The wound is intricately woven in the tapestry of life. It is there at birth. It is there in childhood and puberty. It is there in adulthood and old age. The question is not “Are we wounded?” but “What will we do with the wound? Will we heal it or will we pass it on?”
  
  The choice to feel our pain and heal our wounds is a choice each one of us will make or refuse to make. If we choose to make it, the candle of hope will be lit for countless others. If we choose not to make it, the world becomes a little darker and more dreary.

   In this volume, Jesus sets the record straight regarding a number of events in his life. He tells us: "I was born to a simple woman in a barn. She was no more a virgin than your mother was." Moreover, the virgin birth was not the only myth surrounding his life and teaching. So were the concepts of vicarious atonement and physical resurrection.
