Men on Men 2000 (2000), David Bergman, ed.
These venerable collections of short stories have become a gay literary
institution, launching the careers of several, now luminary,
writers-including Joe Keenan,
Christopher Bram,
Dale Peck,
and David Leavitt.
True to its tradition, Men on Men 2000 brings bright new literary talent
together with established writers-such as Edmund White
and Brian Bouldrey
-- to offer a poignant collection of gay fiction that
is provocative and illuminating at every turn. This diverse group of
voices etches an indelible portrait of gay life at the dawn of the
twenty-first century, addressing issues such as identity and gender
stereotypes, the power of love, the lingering shadow of AIDS, and the
new adventure of fatherhood.

Obsessed (1999), Michael Lowenthal, ed.
Provocative celebration of obsession in all its forms. Some of the best
gay writers at work today write tell-all memoirs of being seduced by the
luscious, often dangerous, game of obsession. An uncensored collection,
Obsessed is made up entirely of secret fantasies, elusive loves, and
titillating, taboo encounters.
Scott Heim
reminisces about a high school crush in "I Am Going to Eat You," and Brian Bouldrey
guiltily reports being drawn to his lover's ex in "Ex Marks the Spot."
Stephen Greco visits a kinky
grooming parlor in "Field of Vision," while "In This Corner" finds
Charles Flowers
stripping down to his trunks with his boxing instructor. Established
writers share this collection with new talents, exploring gay men's most
private and honest erotic experiences.
Generation Q: Gays, Lesbians, and Bisexuals Born Around 1969's Stonewall
Riots Tell Their Stories of Growing Up in the Age of Information
(1996), Robin Bernstien, ed.
"Since the advent of the gay liberation movement in 1969 -- the
direct result of the Stonewall Riots in Greenwich Village -- there has
been a plethora of writing about the lives of gay men and lesbians. Much
of this has been done by people who were already "out" by the mid-1970s.
Generation Q is a collection of essays, memoirs, recollections and
thoughts by young people who were just being born in 1969. Ranging from
humorous commentary to serious examinations of what it means to be a
young gay man in the middle of the AIDS epidemic, this is an important,
moving and challenging look at the problems and the pleasures facing
young gay people today, for it tells us not only about our youthful
presence but our future as well." -- Amazon.com
